Pampas Galeras National Reserve

This place is in the way to Cusco, the region in high altitude that is the natural habitat of vicuñas similar to the llama. The reserve does not have any tourist infrastructure, which give an authentic and additional touch in comparison to other reserves. For example, each two years, a ritual and traditional ceremony, the chaccu, gathers all the surrounding villages in order to shear the vicuñas with a ritual process in an event that lasts three days, including music, dancing, singing and drinking alcohol.
